Lenses
Need some
tinted contact lenses? Tinted contact lenses can be
used to subtly change the natural color of the eye or in
some cases completely change the color you currently
have. There are various types of tinted contact lenses
you are going to want to consider based upon what effect
you’re going for.
One of the
types you can get is the visibility tinted contact lenses,
these ones are slightly tinted, they don’t contain much
dye. These will not alter the natural color of your
eye. Next, there are color enhancement contact lenses
that enhance the natural color of the eye, the iris to be
specific. These work by intensifying the color of your
iris. Finally, you have opaque contact lenses which
completely mask your original color and overlay it with some
other color that is completely different, this can allow you
to have brown, green, blue, red, yellow or any other color
contacts.
Now if
you’re going for one of these tinted lenses, another thing
you’re going to want to know is that some of them allow you
to reduce glare or light sensitivity. Some of them
have a UV filter even, although they are not strong enough
to be any replacement for sun glasses. Do note also
that these only protect the cornea and retina as well, so
it’s not a complete solution, but it definitely does
help.
Now if
you’re not sure which color to go with for your tint, you
might want to go online and look for a site which can show
you virtually what you would look like with a different
colored eye. There are some websites which allow you
to upload a picture of yourself and then change the eye
color of that picture so that you can get an idea for what
you will look like with blue, green, hazel or any other
color of iris.
Based on
this, you can go and try out a different color, although you
may also want to go online and find reviews of colored
contacts and what people have said about them. One
place to find reviews is Amazon, you can find people there
who have the same color eyes as you and see what they have
to say about different colors and how they looked on
them. This can also give you a good barometer for how
the lenses will look like on your eyes and if they will
stand out too much or not. Of course other
considerations like ethnicity will come into play as well,
so that is not always accurate.
In the end,
if you’re looking for tinted contact lenses, the best way to
find out what works for you is to just try different things
out, don’t be afraid to make a few mistakes color-wise when
searching for the optimal color.
